ProTek Recycling is Hiring a Production Associate (Temporary part time) Near Watervliet, NY
ProTek Recycling is hiring a Production Associate to help with all things related to getting inventory processed and out of the facility for down stream processing. Optimal schedule will be Tues, Wed, Thurs 7am-3pm. This could be changed to accommodate a suitable candidate.
This position will involve:
- taking apart desktops, servers and other electronic devices using power tools and hand tools. Test, sort, and process various electronics (eg. LCD monitors)
- help prepare outgoing shipments for freight transportation.
- unload trucks including stacking, sorting, and recording(scanning) serial numbers of the received equipment (into Microsoft Excel)
- assist with completing data destruction services including certificate creation, shredding drive and data overwriting. (requires training and NAID certification, provided by ProTek Recycling, Inc.)
A strong candidate is one who is hardworking, a problem solver, and self motivated. They should be able to take directions well and anticipate what needs to be done. This is a physical position and employees are expected to be able to lift, push, pull 75lbs through a work shift and to maintain quotas.
The shift schedule for this position will be 7am to 3pm on Mondays through Fridays.
Pay starts at $16/hr.
Preferred background/interests: (not required)
- General knowledge or an interesting in learning about a variety computer equipment
- Experience identifying base metals
- Experience ( or hobbies) working in production, assembly, repair or manufacturing
- Skilled with hand and power tools
- Experience with materials handling equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc)
Requirements:
- 18 years old
- Back ground check
- Pre-hire and random drug screening
- Able to lift, push, pull 75 lbs throughout a work shift
- GED/ HS Diploma
This position may develop into a Full Time year-round position with ProTek Recycling, Inc. A FullTime position comes with health benefits and more.

We the process all the technology to find alternative markets or recycling streams for the different products.
