Commercial GC Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, motivated estimator to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for commercial building and concrete projects, estimating labor and materials costs, and communicating financial cost and project timelines to customers. You must have a keen attention to detail and skills at estimating projects to set our client's expectations accurately.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Assess projects by identifying project scope and requirements, regarding time, labor, and material costs.

· Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates.

· Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and management during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy.

· Make sound decisions in the calculation, analysis, and adjustment of estimates.

· Present proposals to clients in a timely manner.

· Recommend cost-reduction and value engineering options.

· Attend client appointments as needed.

· Assemble all pre-construction documents and submittals.

· Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates, receipts, and project completion documentation.

Requirements and Qualifications

· Experience in a similar role, preferably with a commercial contractor.

· Be precise, concise, and accurate in spreadsheets, documents, and emails.

· Ability to work independently and collaborate with management and crews.

· Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

· Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills

· Hold yourself to high standards of accuracy, accountability, and decision making.

· Time management and task prioritization skills
