ProTech Mechanical is Hiring a Controls Technician Near Corpus Christi, TX

Pro Tech Mechanical was established in March of 2000 as a Commercial HVAC Service Company and is now a full MEP Mechanical Contractor covering the entire South Texas Region.

Pro Tech Mechanical’s Controls Dept. understands these needs and has the expertise to trend and monitor a client’s system remotely and work towards the prevention of issues instead of reacting to emergencies. We work on all types and sizes of commercial facilities from restaurants to multi-story office buildings. As a Controls Technician you will be the face of our company, proactively troubleshooting and correcting issues on-site for many different clients daily.

Major function and purpose of the position.

  • Work directly with the Controls Manager and dispatch to coordinate job details. Take direction and perform tasks as assigned.
  • Clearly communicate job summary, actions, and resolutions when entering details in Field Ops.
  • Complete work within the expected time frame.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required on a job site. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Ensure team is following safety guidelines on all job sites.

Qualifications

  • Advanced principles of low voltage AC and DC electricity.
  • Advanced low voltage electrical circuit troubleshooting.
  • Mastery of understanding mechanical parts and the role they play in a system.
  • Mastery of troubleshooting controllers, field devices, components, and controls panels.
  • Mastery of terminating controls panels with or without documentation.
  • Ability to run controls service calls with minimal technical assistance.
  • Johnson Controls PCT Software Certificate
  • Niagara N4 Software Certification

Spends 100% of time visiting client facilities or working outside. If visiting client locations, field conditions can have high noise levels, heavy machinery, bad weather conditions, and unknown hazards – safety equipment will be required. Local and regional travel is necessary.
