ProSteel Buildings, LLC has a current opening for an Estimator based out of
Charlotte, North Carolina. The Estimator role will be responsible for developing accurate and complete job estimates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Estimator identifies project labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, written specifications and related documents.
  • Prepare estimates, estimate drawings and proposal/contract based on quantity take-off.
  • Apply the correct unit cost for materials, labor, shipping/handling and additional services when required.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and plan specifications.
  • Create accurate and professional bids, quotes and/or proposals and contracts.
  • Correspond with GC through entire bid process.
  • Conducts site visits and attends meetings to understand the project scope.
  • Define the correct materials specifications on proposal drawings and proposal/contract.
  • Create accurate, detailed estimates using Proposal form in MS Excel format.
  • Communicating with multiple vendors for pricing.

Critical skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess working knowledge of commercial construction documentation and pricing; able to read plans and specifications and translate them into estimates.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Familiar with building codes.
  • Previous experience putting together proposal contracts.
  • Ability to prospect projects that fit the company’s build criteria.
  • Proficient with computers, tablets and smartphones, including typing skills.
  • Familiar with Monday.com.
  • Willingness to work necessary hours to ensure all project estimating needs are being met.
  • Good time management skills to complete project tasks and meet established due dates.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Metal Building Industry experience (specifically self-storage) preferred.
  • Multi-Story Estimating skills highly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience estimating Commercial Construction project is required (5 years preferred).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • High Proficiency in excel required.
  • Familiar with PlanSwift/Bluebeam, AutoCAD required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Construction estimating: 2 years (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Charlotte, NC: Relocate before starting work (Required)
