As an Asphalt Paver Screed Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining asphalt paving equipment, specifically the screed. Your role will involve ensuring the accurate and consistent application of asphalt on roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces. Your attention to detail and knowledge of proper compaction techniques will contribute to the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and control the asphalt paver screed to lay asphalt to the specified thickness and grade.

• Utilize knowledge of screed and compaction techniques to achieve proper compaction and smooth asphalt surfaces.

• Collaborate with the paving crew, including the paving machine operator, to ensure seamless operations and high-quality results.

• Monitor asphalt levels and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistent flow and prevent asphalt segregation.

• Regularly inspect and maintain the screed, conducting minor repairs and adjustments as needed.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe work environment.

• Communicate effectively with the team to coordinate activities and address any issues

that may arise.

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of equipment usage, daily production volumes, and any incidents or concerns.

• Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in asphalt paving techniques and equipment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Asphalt Paver Screed Operator or a similar role in the construction industry.

• Expertise in operating and maintaining asphalt paver screeds and related equipment.

• Thorough knowledge of asphalt mix design, compaction techniques, and laying

specifications.

• Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and elevation markings.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to screed operation.

• Strong attention to detail and precision in achieving accurate thicknesses and grades.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with crew members and

project managers.

• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant industry regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
