Job Type: Full Time- Three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends

Salary: $30-$34 an hour

License/Certification Requirements:

· Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

· Licensed and accredited by ARRT and State, if applicable and required by law

· Maintain CEU/CME’s as applicable for licensure.

· Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Experience performing all standard radiographic studies on pediatric and geriatric patients.

· Experience with computed and digital radiography.

· Experience with taking patient vitals.

· Experience performing point of care testing (i.e. rapid strep, rapid flu, and urinalysis)

· Experience performing employer health services (i.e. urine drug screen, breath alcohol testing, DOT examinations)

· Experience documenting within electronic medical records and PACS.

· Ability to perform venipuncture and lab specimen collections experience.

· Comfortable working independently without the support of another radiologic technologist

· Candidates are required to pass a drug test and background check before beginning employment.

Responsibilities:

  • This role acts as an extension of the nursing staff and is responsible for performing all the duties of the nursing staff within a reasonable scope of practice.
  • Perform high-quality x-rays on all patient types and age groups, under the guidance of a physician and according to pre-established standards and protocols.
  • Prepare each patient for all x-ray exams by providing clear and concise instructions, position patients with care for each radiographic view, move the x-ray machine in appropriate position, and adjust technique based on the body part of interest and body habitus.
  • Protect patients and employees from unnecessary radiation exposure by adhering to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and radiation safety (e.g., lead shielding).
  • Maintain x-ray equipment according to manufacturer and company policies to ensure optimal operation, such as performing quality checks and keeping records in appropriate system(s) (e.g., logbooks).
  • Assist with medical assistant tasks such as managing patient flow, taking patient vitals, and conducting selected point of care diagnostic tests, and tasks relevant to leadership responsibilities (e.g., motivating center staff, monitoring quality of patient experiences, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with center staff and other team members from nearby location, including corporate office, if needed.
  • Obtain, verify, and document all relevant patient information in respective systems (e.g., RIS, PACS, & EMR).
  • Collect specimens and perform rapid testing such as COVID, Flu, Strep, RSV, Mono, UPT, etc. As well as preparing and running EKG tests and administering nebulizer treatments.
  • Complete occupational health testing including such services as urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, and physicals.
