Prospect Schools is seeking an organized, flexible, and mission-driven Spanish and English as a New Language (ENL) Teacher to join our vibrant educational team. This role is pivotal in crafting a bilingual learning environment that fosters inclusivity, respect for cultural diversity, and a love for lifelong learning. Job Responsibilities:
Teach a designated amount of sections of a specific content area
Use assessment data, student work, and other information to inform plans for student and class objectives; For ML/ELL students this will also include using the NYSITELL, NYSESLAT, and other formative assessments to monitor ML/ELL students' progress as language learners
Develop and execute engaging, innovative lesson plans tailored to various learning styles and proficiency levels. Utilize a range of resources creatively to enhance learning outcomes.
Work closely with our school Principal, Department Head, and subject teachers to continuously improve and iterate on relevant curricula
Operate with the belief that all students can and want to learn.
Prioritize each student’s academic and social-emotional development.
Collaborate with colleagues to share research-based practices for teaching ML/ELL students
About You:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in education strongly preferred
NYS teaching certification preferred
Experience working with or teaching students who are learning a new language (Multilingual Learners) Fluent in both Spanish and English, with a deep understanding of linguistic nuances
Solid grounding in educational theories and practices, especially in world language instruction and/or bilingual education.

Ability to work with young children, K-5 who present with various learning challenges
Create opportunities for students to build self-advocacy skills.

Parent Partnership
Build relationships and provide ongoing progress updates through regular communication with the families of all students in your classroom
Maintain open, effective communication with parents/guardians, providing detailed updates on student progress and strategies for support at home.
Utilize family and student feedback to continuously improve the learning experience for your students
Coordinate and facilitate meetings with families on both an ad hoc basis and during regularly scheduled events, such as Report Card Night

Candidate Requirements:
Bachelors Degree
Prior teaching experience preferred
Exceptionally strong organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail
Experience working in a diverse school community
Adept at collaborating and building community with others

Salary
Employees at Prospect Schools are provided with a competitive salary. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. The salary range for this role is from $61,500-$102,880 based on experience.
