Job Title: Purchasing Agent

Reports to: Purchasing Manager

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Agent performs a variety of duties for all locations including purchasing, maintaining supply chain, and other supplies as needed.

Purchasing Clerk Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing support for the procurement of products, materials and supplies.
• Must follow established guidelines and procedures for inventory levels and ordering.
• Responsible for negotiating and obtaining the best pricing for orders.
• Responsible for the tracking of orders through ERP system including backorders.
• Responsible for the monitoring of order quality and compliance of both internal and external requirements
• Complete purchase orders.
• Responsible for vendor and suppliers research for cost efficiency.
• Responsible for assisting in the improvement of processes and changes related to inventory and inventory controls.
• Responsible for purchasing tail – reduction.

Purchasing Clerk Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year prior purchasing experience required.
• Ability to accurately order and determine items needed to be ordered.
• Basic understanding of purchasing processes
• Strong ability to negotiate pricing and order quantities.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft office and/or inventory software.
• Able to maintain records, input data and generate reports.

Physical Requirements and Preferred Experience:

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
• May be required to lift up to 15lbs.
• Must be able to use a standard computer with 10-key pad
• Must be able to communicate in a standard office environment.
