Job Description: Under the direction of the Prosecuting Attorney and the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney: reviews warrant requests for appropriate charges; conducts pre-trial and trial matters in juvenile, traffic, misdemeanor, and felony cases; reviews search warrants; handles paternity and child support matters; appears in mental proceedings; provides advice to law enforcement officers; coordinates with other agencies; and any other prosecutorial issues that may arise. Duties may be adjusted at any time.

Qualifications: Applicant must be proficient in legal research and writing and also have the ability to use common sense and make independent plea negotiation decisions within office policy parameters.

Must have a law degree from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice in the State of Michigan, and have some criminal trial law experience (preferred).

This is a full-time position with an on-call rotation.

Starting Salary: $60,099 – $76,044, plus benefits package
