Description

Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine animals. As part of our commitment to providing an exceptional experience for our guests, we operate a vibrant cafe offering a variety of food and beverage options.

Join our reputable culinary team as a Kitchen Supervisor! We are seeking an experienced Kitchen supervisor to join the team at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The Kitchen Supervisor will assist the Executive Chef as a point person of leadership to the culinary and POP team.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability, physical demands, and work environment associated with this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day culinary operations for the Café and Catering events as scheduled. 
  • Assist with the coordinating of food and kitchenware orders. 
  • Assist with inventory and organization of storage areas and oversee checking in and putting away food orders. 
  • Assist in the development of menu items. 
  • Be an onsite supervisor during food service times. 
  • The Cafe operates 5-7 days per week from 8:30am-6:30pm
  • Managing time effectively to ensure all BEO/menu items are completed prior to service times and according to recipe guidelines. 
  • Managing the team that is scheduled in the kitchen or pantry areas. 
  • Assist with on-the-job training of new employees ensuring all staff are set up for success. 
  • Attending and executing each assigned event to ensure that it runs smoothly from the set-up to the break-down.
  • Assisting in post-event tasks including inputting payroll and inventory as directed. 

Performs other related duties as needed. 

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in a lead culinary role with experience in catering or high volume. 
  • Experience in a stadium setting is preferred. 
  • Ability to produce menu items consistently and in high volume. 
  • Leadership qualities with a focus on team development 

Specialized Skills:

  • Excellent listening and communication skills 
  • Renowned time management and organization skills 
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond a client’s needs. 
  • The ability to work alone and as a team. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn and adapt quickly. 

Work Environment

This position will consist of event attendance, preparation, assist with set up, and breakdown. This position works mostly out of and mainly stay within Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Uniform Requirements:

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue 
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.
