Description

Gateway Center Arena in College Park is a state-of-the-art 5,000-seat venue located in Metro Atlanta’s Southside (neighboring GICC). Proof of the Pudding is the exclusive Food & Beverage provider to the Gateway Center Arena, providing amazing culinary experiences at our VIP Premier Area, three themed concession stands, and numerous pop-up vendors!  

Proof of the Pudding is looking for team members that will be responsible for cooking in concessions stands the many events at Gateway Arena. We are offering competitive pay, on-the-job training, flexible schedules, and opportunity for advancement with full time work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Prep and cook made to order concessions style offerings
  • Uses flat tops, fryers, combi ovens, impinger ovens, and other equipment to produce excellent food according to specifications. 
  • Communicate with BOH and FOH staff to keep food at par levels. 
  • Practicing proper food safety procedures while preparing hot and cold foods. 
  • Recording the temperature of food items and communicating with the stand supervisor when discarding spoiled items. 
  • Ensuring proper cleaning and sanitizing of food contact surfaces such as/but not limited to dishes, small wares, equipment, and food prep surfaces. 
  • Count opening/closing inventory and communicate with other team members. 
  • Someone that is team oriented, punctual and has a consistent work ethic.  
  • Running food on game-days, assisting in the organization of menu items according to BEOs and event information
  • Maintaining the highest level of service, safety, and food quality for each event

 Performs other related duties as required. 

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience: 

  • 2 years producing food in a high-volume environment preferred. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Must live within or near College Park, GA. 
  • ServSafe certified or is available to receive training. 

Specialized Qualifications: 

  • Must have a firm understanding of all food safety practices including, but not limited to, TCS, TILT, temperature logs, and cleaning/sanitizing. 
  • Must have knowledge of food preparation/food service witha strong understanding of the execution of recipes, reading production sheets, and completing tasks. 
  • Excellent listening and communication skills 
  • Ability to work shifts 8-12 hours depending on business needs.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of cooking equipment. 
  • Must be able to pass a background check.  
  • Availability to work all home football games.  

Work Environment  

The work environment for this position will be event operations and working out of the Arena. This position will often be in the prep area of concessions stands, working with heating equipment, hot oils, and food product. This position may be in and out of freezers and refrigerators as needed.

This is seasonal/part-time work as business needs are dictated by athletic events. 

Uniform Requirements  

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines. 

Non-slip shoes are necessary. 

Physical Demands:  

  • Prolonged periods of moving through an event space, and traveling throughout the stadium 
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items. 
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. 
  • Must be able to lift up-to 40 pounds at times.
