Job Description **POSITION SUMMARY**

Design and develop databases, data repositories and data management routines and mentors other developers as required from a technology perspective in order to produce a well designed product that is consistent with the chosen data engineering technology frameworks being used within the group. Develops and implements methodologies and procedures for the data engineering group. Conscientiously follows those methodologies and procedures. Demonstrates expert technical knowledge with technologies that are relevant to the projects being developed within the Data Warehousing group. Leads in the development and implementation of the data warehousing technology frameworks. Responsible for development, timely implementation and overall quality of the products assigned to the Senior Analyst, Data Engineer. Interacts with Business Analysts and Report Developers to ensure the products we are building will meet or exceed the business requirements in the most cost effective and timely manner. Assists the Senior Manager of Data Warehousing in supervising other data engineers in the development of assigned products. Oversees the evaluation, integration, customization and implementation of custom and 3rd party business solutions for areas that the Data Warehousing team is responsible for. Demonstrates personal interest, knowledge, and skills necessary to proactively define and resolve issues that impact operations of relevant departments and business units within ProMedica Senior Care. Demonstrates knowledge of the other groups in the IS Department in order to provide support of day-to-day operations. Provides support of the day-to-day operations of the Data Warehousing team. Works on a team to provide 7x24 coverage of all development activities across all ProMedica Senior Care business units ensuring that all products promoted into our production environment are working in accordance with the expectations of the CFO, COO, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers of all ProMedica Senior Care business units. Assists with any projects as defined by the Senior Manager.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Performs tasks associated with running the group by leading in the implementation of operating policies, procedures, time management and estimating techniques and documentation. Makes and evaluates recommendations for changes in business processes to Senior Manger. Implements standards and operating methodologies to ensure the integrity, consistency, security, quality and performance of each technology across the organization.

* Provides immediate assistance when application problems prevent timely completion of production or cause other service interruptions. Works in a calm and logical manner with users, IS staff and vendors to resolve problems. Provides team with assistance and guidance for escalation.

* Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all business units supported by his/her group. Is able to give an in depth description of what type of services each business unit provides, what the internal organization of each business type is, and the basic job functions of staff within that organization.

* Demonstrates expert user knowledge for all ProMedica Senior Care technology, standard applications, and custom and third party business applications, within his/her groups area of responsibility to ensure user satisfaction and productivity.

* Leads projects that enhance the quality and efficiency of support; Leads other staff in support of major or complex projects; Acts as a liaison for major products or projects, working with other corporate departments and third-party vendors as needed.

* Works to ensure that service level agreements with all appropriate ProMedica Senior Care business units are maintained and ensures all services provided are executed in accordance with those agreements. Notifies senior manager of possible shortfalls in a timely manner.

* Provides effective written and verbal communication to senior manager, peers and other ProMedica Senior Care personnel related to the status of day-to-day operations, new initiatives and issues, in accordance with the format and time frames determined by the senior manager.

* Acts as a consultant and resource to the Senior Manager and other team members. Assists Senior Manager in carrying out supervisory responsibilities as assigned.

* Recommends new ways of using software tools to improve workflow, eliminate labor intensive and time-consuming tasks and to increase quality.

* Demonstrates effective business and technical writing skills, and is responsible for writing user guides, implementation plans, testing procedures, general communications and other personal computing documentation required to support the user base.

* Develops relationships and strong lines of communication with corporate and field business groups to foster a better understanding of the factors that influence the business units or areas that his/her support group has responsibility for.

* Consistently models the highest levels of support orientation and professionalism; Sets a good example for others.

* Follows ProMedica Senior Care procedures to remain in compliance with, all warranty, registration and licensing restrictions associated with infrastructure devices, operating software, applications and services.

* Demonstrates a caring attitude toward ProMedica Senior Cares residents, family members, employees and other company guests as the need arises.

* Consistently models the highest levels of support orientation and professionalism. Achieves annual targeted goals in Customer Service skill development. Sets a good example for others.

* Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* Education: Bachelors degree with three years of professional experience required or Associates degree with five to seven years of professional experience or seven to ten years of professional experience. Professional certification required.

* Skills: Three years professional experience in Database Administration or Database Development; one year of progressive experience managing projects and team leadership.
