Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Materials Manager reviews material requirements for actual and forecasted sales, and plans and purchases the highest quality materials, parts, and components, etc. at the most cost-effective pricing while meeting delivery requirements and analyzes material requirements to determine when materials will be needed, in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Materials Manager at TechniBlend is responsible for managing the process of creating demand, sourcing, purchasing, material planning and flow of material; delivering the best cost, quality, and lead-times position to ensure the business can efficiently meet customer requirements.

Are you motivated about this work? 

  • ERP champion within the business to drive efficiency improvements in both process and transactional practices.
  • Proficient in Demand, Supply; and Inventory Management leveraging standard MRP
  • Establishes a culture of maintaining high data quality standards within ERP
  • Responsible for the efficient material flow within the business from forecasting, purchasing, receiving, storage, picking, staging, outside processing, and shipping
  • Owns Demand Planning through the creation and management of Job BOMs including creation, structure, and maintenance from engineering changes to support overall material planning & operational excellence
  • Drives supplier relationship management by developing strategic partners to support local business requirements outside of the ProMach Preferred Supplier List (PSL)
  • Sets expectations and drives a high coverage to supplier portal compliance (SourceDay)
  • Sourcing leader within the organization to identify and negotiate cost savings
  • Responsible for spend visibility by maintaining an annual spend cube (Top Suppliers)
  • Creating a sourcing funnel and having an active list of sourcing projects by collaborating with internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate make vs buy decisions to optimize internal capacities and cost structure
  • Manage import and export requirements
  • Owns and reports on key metrics including Costs (PPV), Supply Chain (OTD, Quality), and Cash (DPO) to identify key actions to drive improvement in the supply chain
  • Drives Standard Work within the Business to improve overall efficiency within the materials group
  • Actively seek out best practices for internal consumption within our division
  • Develop short and long-range goals and objectives for optimizing the supply chain to support the business in being the most competitive solution within your respective markets
  • Working with other functional leaders and understanding cross-functional opportunities to drive value (i.e. Engineering | Aftermarket | Finance)
  • Manage and execute VMI decisions.
  • Monitor and control inventory and safety stock levels.
  • Utilize and maintain ABC inventory analysis.

  • 5 Years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment; preferably with an engineer to order a business model.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering or Business Management or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytical skills must be demonstrated including Excel including pivot tables; use of business intelligence (Tableau) and data extract tools.
  • Advanced skills in the effective use of ERP | MRP (must be able to demonstrate)
  • Proven track record in driving results and delivering outcomes within the supply chain.
  • Excellent communication skills and styles, both written and verbal; demonstrated ability to effectively present information to internal and external audiences.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment; comfortable in a cross-functional role
  • Ability to apply the theory of lean practices and methodologies, including standard work.
