Job Details

4.35 IA Network Engineer Senior

Task Description

a. Provide analysis and guidance for application architectural enhancements including but not limited to: Information Assurance (IA) compliance, high availability, scalability, capacity planning, network design, cable plant and IP management.

b. Provide support to maintain the system, network and application security integrity including development, management and updating the Certification and Accreditation requirements to include the execution and recording results of applicable test and verification requirements.

c. Apply Defense in Depth methodologies to the hardening of all associated networks and systems. In depth knowledge of the Defense Information Systems Agency published Security Technical Information Guidance (STIG) processes and procedures is essential.

d. Support all Computer Network Defense (CND) compliance.

e. Employ latest IA tools and industry best practices in network and system security.

f. Support Cyber Security Inspection (CSI).

g. Attend meetings, take notes and prepare written feedback on the content and outcome of meetings, and follow-on tasks including recommendation and suggestions.

h. Assist in developing point papers, naval messages, presentations, briefings and other forms of written documentation on an as needed basis to support C&A and IA functions.

i. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, workflow process charts, forms, POC lists, and other documentation needed to support C&A processes and related IA functions.

j. Compile and analyze data, and develop a monthly Dashboard for USFF leadership review for C&A and IA readiness and compliance.

k. Develop POAMs and risk assessments.

Qualification

a. Education

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Associate Degree in Computer Science with additional 2 years of experience.

At least 8 years of experience. In lieu of formal education, 10 years of experience specifically related to the below qualification requirements.

b. Experience

Knowledge of the configuration, management, administration, and design of the USFF Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) Maritime Operations Center (MOC) Community of Interest (COI) Service Delivery Point (SDP) networks.

Advanced knowledge and experience of the Defense Information Systems Agency published Security Technical Information Guidance (STIG) requirements and implementation/compliance process.

Advanced knowledge and experience of Computer Network Defense (CND) compliance requirements for all managed networks and systems.

Advanced knowledge and experience of the Cyber Security Inspection and Certification Program (CSICP) requirements and processes.

Advanced knowledge and experience in the operations and maintenance of the DOD's Host Based Security System (HBSS).

Advanced knowledge and experience with network, server and storage virtualization, i.e. Microsoft Hypervisor and VMWare vSphere.

Advanced knowledge and experience of IOS, EIGRP, BGP, GRE, IPS/IDS, TACACS , ACS and OSPF.
Advanced knowledge and experience of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, to include but not limited to: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, VPN, SAN, and the like.

In-depth knowledge and experience in configuring and maintaining Microsoft Servers, SQL, IIS, AD and DNS.

In-depth knowledge and experience in configuring and maintaining Linux Servers and its associated services.

In-depth knowledge and experience in writing scripts (i.e. Perl, Python or PowerShell) to perform task automation.

Strong oral and technical writing skills.

Must maintain current CompTIA Security certification.

Must have government secret clearance.
