Legal Communications Marketing Specialist Location: NY, NY Base Salary: $100k to $110k which will depend on experience This is a non-exempt position, the hours are 9a-5p.
As a Communications & Marketing Specialist you will need to have well-rounded professional skills and be able to take on diverse tasks.
Looking for an individual who has a deep understanding of print and web production content and must create and adhere to strict timelines, coordinate meetings and presentations, and have excellent organizational skills.
The Communications & Marketing Specialist will work directly with the Business & Operations team and outside communications companies to create content for different media platforms.
You will work directly with attorneys to discuss details of cases they have closed in order to strategize the correct media strategy.
The Communications & Marketing Specialist will have 3-4 years of legal marketing experience and will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Cross-Selling Program / Business Development
Currently includes 16 participating members who meet virtually every two months (with email reminders / updates from C&MC in between)
Create PowerPoints and printed pitch materials as needed for various cross-selling meetings
Work hand-in-hand to set meetings with individual attorneys / assist in the follow-ups and next steps as needed per person
Work with Business Development Committee to establish individual attorney as well as firmwide goals, while making strategic media plans such as sponsored articles with The Real Deal and Brick Underground
Inside Podcast:
Episode planning, coordinating guests, video / audio editing and exporting, creation of promotional graphics, detailed show notes and episode write-ups
Client Email Blasts:
Proofread, edit and timely issue client email blasts as well as manage / update attorney client or contact lists
Website:
Administer regular updates including new events, adding or removing attorney bios, new industry updates, various page updates (practice areas, culture pages, DEI page, etc.), design or formatting updates
Attorney and new employee onboarding:
Draft attorney bios and coordinate professional headshots.
Produce welcome graphics for internal circulation
Internal and Client Newsletters:
Create and issue monthly Internal Newsletter along with quarterly Client Newsletter in both print and digital form
Attorney / Firm Awards:
Draft various essays and award nominations for both the firm and individual attorneys (most recently, drafted all essays and content related to our Litigation Dept. of the Year submission and Crain’s Best Places to Work submission)
Handle all aspects of the Super Lawyers process, including updating badges for new attorneys and managing corresponding ad campaigns.
Events:
Coordinate all firm sponsored events (booking tables, securing sponsorships, drafting related ads, etc.)
Coordinate detailed follow-up of target contacts from industry events hosted by Bisnow
Coordinate and execute internal webinars which includes strategic email invite / marketing campaigns beforehand, along with strategic email follow-up after the webinar
Social Media Management:
Manage firm’s social media accounts as well as individual LinkedIn accounts for several attorneys
Regular updating of miscellaneous materials:
Regularly work with litigation group, transactional paralegals, and individual attorneys to ensure our website and marketing materials are as up to date as possible regarding our most recent work, etc.
Conduct annual update of attorney bios
Graphic design:
In addition to newsletters, creation of various firm print and digital advertisements as well as graphics for upcoming events, etc., using Adobe design products
Experience/Qualifications:
Assist with Media Coverage
Coordinate media requests and follow up, while serving as the secondary media contact as needed
Work with the PR team in aligning public relations strategies and communications
Identify and develop relationships with the attorneys, media personnel and real estate event coordinators to promote our services and events
Write and publish website, blog and email newsletter content
Maintain organization’s social media accounts, including content creation and curation
Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications activities
Assist with other external and internal communications duties as needed
Help pitch stories and match ideas with attorneys.
Update Attorney Profiles
Update work that attorneys have done and try to create case studies and press releases in order to further promote individuals as a whole
