Overview:

Our Personal Lines Underwriter I ensures a profitable book of Property and Casualty insurance business by appropriately pre-qualifying risks meeting policy guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and review new business applications to ensure they meet or exceed underwriting guidelines.
• As appropriate, review renewals and endorsement requests for adherence to underwriting guidelines
• Process endorsements, renewals, non-renewals, cancellations, and reinstatements
• Maintain a high level of customer service
• Manage a high volume of customer and agent phone inquiries.
• Maintains effective business relationships with agents as well as internal and external customers/coworkers.
• Compliance with underwriting rules, guidelines, and governmental regulations
• Acts within Level of Authority
• Process payments as needed
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2 years prior Property and Casualty insurance experience
• Attention to detail, comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude
• Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish Preferred
• Diamond Insurance software experience preferred

Education / License:

• High School Degree Required
• Producers License Preferred
