Job Overview:
We are seeking a Hardware Department/Rental Contract Manager who will oversee the hardware store and rental contract employees' activities to ensure that the store is running efficiently and profitable.

Major Responsibilities

The major responsibilities for this position include:

· Provide training, motivation and mentoring to your team on their respective primary and secondary duties, including but not limited to excellent customer service, product knowledge (it’s what separates us from the big box stores), use of computer systems, proper phone etiquette and proper use of the radio. (Refer to your team’s job description for a thorough list).

· Oversee retail inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels, ensure report accuracy and to reduce shrinkage

· Collaborate with store owner to determine new product offerings.

· Ensure merchandizing and visual presentation standards of the store including organization and cleanliness.

· Coordinate and oversee new in-store displays, promotional materials and seasonal items.

· Identify new business opportunities and implement strategies to enhance profitability and growth.

· Be the first to address customer inquiries, complaints and concerns. Defer to store owner when necessary.

· Work with HR to ensure that scheduling needs are met

· Make sure safety policies and procedures are enforced

· Take on tasks and projects as requested by Store Owner and other Department Managers.

Qualifications/Expectations: The Hardware Department/Rental Contract Manager is a “people” person; helpful and cheerful with a positive attitude. A candidate must be committed to and take pride in good work, as well as supervise, lead, and motivate others. They also must be able to provide outstanding customer service, communicate openly and effectively, work as a team and utilize problem solving skills/solutions. In addition, the manager must know when to ask questions, be resourceful with computers, possess professionalism at all times, maintain confidentiality, maintain flexibility (in all things), and embrace change to enhance personal, as well as team growth and learning.

The manager will take the helm at Proctor Builders as a leader who can motivate and build a team that provides excellent customer service. This person will be responsible for all aspects of running the store on a daily basis, including helping maximize store sales and profitability, managing expenses, ensuring that the store is optimally stocked and merchandised, and that all customer’s needs are met. Being able to identify and recommend the right product for a job is crucial for attaining great customer service. Prior experience in retail management and hardware store knowledge is a beneficial, but the self-drive and ability to learn is what will make this position succeed. These tasks will help to fulfill Proctor Builders’ mission to operate an economically successful business that remains profitable in the long run.

Proctor Builders has three main departments: building materials, hardware and rentals. All three departments need to work together in a cohesive and cooperative manner to help our business thrive and be successful. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 44 per week
