Position Summary
This position will work together with the Finishing General Superintendent and other team members to plan, coordinate and execute assigned finishing work in a manner that aligns with Procon’s mission, vision and values. A Finishing Superintendent is responsible for managing all assigned field activities including: communicating workforce needs, quality control, safety, inspections and time/data collection. It will require a high degree of common sense, logical thought processes and excellent problem resolution skills as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines with a sense of urgency. All employees are expected to adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Procon Employee Handbook and Corporate Safety Manual and behave in a manner that aligns with Procon’s Values.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. General
A. Oversee and ensure the safety of all Procon employees while at work
b. Oversee quality of all assigned Procon finishing work
c. Meet the project budget and hour expectations as set by Finishing General Superintendent
d. Ensure that crew hours are submitted accurately and on time each day
e. Work with Finishing General Superintendent to determine project manpower and general workforce needs
f. Directly interact with customers and communicate expectations between crews and customers
g. Be available by phone at all times, especially when Finish crews are working
h. Educate and train site teams on finishing process and best practices
i. Assist PM and site teams with sequence planning
j. Conduct employee evaluations for direct reports
k. Lead by example and train and mentor direct reports
l. Identify, nurture and promote all direct reports that have field leadership potential
2. Daily
a. Call customers to confirm the next day’s job. Verify the following:
b. Oversee stretch and flex to ensure it is completed on every project every day
c. Ensure Pre-task plan is completed in Procore by 9:00am
d. Ensure Daily Logs are completed in Procore by 9:00am for previous day
e. Review target hours for the previous day in comparison with actual. Discuss with General Superintendent
f. Send schedule and details for following day’s work to relevant parties by 3:00pm
g. Keep finishing scheduler up to date with any changes within 1 hour of notice of change
h. Plan and coordinate all tools and equipment requirements for the following day
i. Ensure that work is being documented with pictures at a minimum of 5-10 / hour
j. Arrive on site 1 hour prior to concrete arrival for inspection and planning
3. Weekly
a. Monday by 12:00pm
b. Thursday by end of day
c. Each morning at start of jobs
