PROCESS TECHNOLOGY is Hiring a Technical Writer Near Amery, WI

The Technical Writer position is part of the Engineering Team. This is a full-time, exempt position. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):

  • Content Creation : Research, write, and edit accurate and concise technical documents, including user manuals, product guides, online help systems, and knowledge base articles.
  • Gather Information: Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information and understand complex technical concepts.
  • Audience Analysis: Analyze the needs of the target audience to tailor language and tone in technical documents for different user levels.
  • Document Design : Organize and format technical content effectively, ensuring documents are visually appealing, easy to navigate, and user-friendly.
  • Review and Editing: Review and edit documentation for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and adherence to company standards.
  • Version Control: Manage and maintain version control of technical documents to ensure that the documentation is always up to date.
  • Visuals: Work with graphic designers and illustrators to include appropriate visuals, diagrams, and charts in technical documents.
  • User Feedback: Gather feedback from users and update documentation based on user needs and suggestions.
  • Compliance: Ensure technical documents comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and customer support staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a technology-related industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand documentation.
  • Proficiency in technical writing tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare).
  • Familiarity with document version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, error-free documentation.
  • Basic understanding of software development processes and technologies is a plus.
