ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility for this role is to ensure proper development and completion of electrical designs and schematics that conform to safety and quality standards, as well as meeting all design cost and schedule objectives. This position will be required to support multiple projects of varying complexity. Additional responsibilities include training Level 1 Design Engineers and advising PMs/others on technical design requirements.

This position will be required to support multiple projects of varying complexity. Additional responsibilities include training Level 1 Design Engineers and advising PMs/others on technical design requirements.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or two-year technical degree/certificate in an electrical-related program, or have at least 4 years of equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer Level 1 or equivalent experience.
- Completed required training and mentorship
- Travel required
- Interpret detailed specifications for automation and control systems.
- Research, understand, and specify/apply commercially available components for use in a total system.
- Control panel design:
- Using UL 508A, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, and NEC design standards.
- Determine Heat Loads, SCCRs, Voltage Separation, Panel Sizing & Ratings.
- Circuit design to include breaker/transformer/motor load/wire/terminal sizing.
- Develop detailed system documentation for the construction and installation of control panels.
- Develop complete electrical drawing packages.
- Edit existing drawing sets with feedback from Project Managers and Controls Engineers.
- On-site support for design reviews, consultancy, installation, start-up, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance to company standards and client requirements.
- Executes functional tests after control panels are completed to ensure quality.
- Control panel verifications (FAT/SAT documentation).
- Provide training to Design Engineer 1 individuals
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
- Firm commitment to efficiently delivering solutions.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently with minimal support.
- Demonstrate proficiency with PCs, operating systems, and MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, MS Project).
- Demonstrate client focused attitude.
- Full understanding of project scope, budget, and schedules.
- Full understanding of company standards and fully complies with them.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
