Description:
Customer is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join a dynamic and exciting data engineering team. As part of this engineering team, you will be responsible for the overall Responsible for designing, planning, implementation, and administration of a range of RDBMS technologies and databases, to include security, access, and documentation progress for a highly performant enterprise data division. Successful candidate will be experienced in data design, enterprise data, reporting, performance tuning, and overall data architecture concepts.
Required
Able to provide technical guidance and support to data development team.
Participates in the design, maintenance, enhancement, coding, and administration of relational databases.
Extensive experience with database management systems (Oracle, Oracle RAC)
Coordinates new data development ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure.
Innovative data subject matter expert capable of identifying new ways to standardize existing data processes and optimizing current workflows
Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions.
Documented experience improving application, schema, and data design to meet demanding enterprise data solution.
Documented background in data warehouse design and dimensional modeling.
Excellent skills in DB Schema design and SQL development
Experience with Agile practices
Plan and implement backups and recovery
Create new schemas and user accounts with required privileges
Setup automated jobs within database for loading, backups or status notification
Provide import or export support for datasets
Support scheduled database or application outages
Maintain documentation for Standard Operating Procedures, After Action Reports, configuration setup and installation and patching procedures.
Participates in special projects as required.
Desired
Documented Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.), Docker, Ansible. Python development experience
