Pro Trans International is Hiring a Quality Specialist Near Indianapolis, IN

SUMMARY

Assists in the implementation, application, and continual improvement of the Quality System in terms of ISO 9001:2015 compliance, lean concept, customer requirements and other regulatory requirements for PT business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Work closely with each department to define measure, analyze, and establish root cause(s) and implement permanent improvements which yield greater flexibility, lower costs, and improved customer satisfaction.

· Participates in the audits of field performance against system standard processes to identify and realize improvement opportunities both in terms of performance compliance and process suitability.

· Assists in the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Quality System documentation in accordance with ISO requirements and other regulatory bodies governing PT business (e.g. CTPAT) and internal business objectives.

· Generates reports that assess, diagnose, and measure established systems to meet customer needs and reduce variation.

· Assists the Training Coordinator and Team Leaders and performs work as an instructor on quality issues, as required.

· Participates in performing internal audits with the Internal Audits team, such as ISO compliance audits and Grid Process Walk audits.

· Compiles statistical data and writes narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings as needed.

· Performs Document Control functions including, but not limited to the following: update, maintenance, distribution and archiving of controlled documents.

· Participates in the identification and implementation of continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, other departments, and the company.

· Performs other related projects as assigned by Management or QA supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university (Industrial Engineering degree preferred; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience).

OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE

The Quality Engineer should have two years operational experience including logistics; preferably international, quality, and customer service. Must have the ability to interact with different levels of the organization and customers in a professional and effective manner. Has the ability to recommend continuous improvement initiatives with consideration to cost savings and customer satisfaction.

CERTIFICATION

A certification as an Internal Auditor or Auditor Trainer or Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.

TRAVEL 

Must be willing to travel as needed. May need to work longer than an eight-hour shift.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concept such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel to prepare reports and ability to analyze results using DMAIC concept. Must have working knowledge and ability to use all Microsoft Suite programs.

OTHER SKILLS

Ability to speak fluent English is required. Ability to speak fluent Spanish is desired. Must be a team worker and have the ability to train personnel. Must be self-motivated in initiating improvement projects.
