Pro Air is Hiring a Safety Specialist Near Washington, DC
Safety Specialist Position, Mechanical Contractor
Full-Time/Salaried Position, $40k-50k Depending on Experience.
D.C. Based Company with projects located throughout MD/DC/VA
Safety Specialist Responsibilities:
A construction safety specialist implements safety policies and regulations on construction sites and makes sure they are followed. Their main responsibility is creating a safe environment for construction workers.
Safety specialist carry out inspections on site to determine hazardous situations. They also specify the adequate personal protective equipment needed, and make sure that workers know how to handle tools and equipment properly.
The main objective of a construction safety specialist is preventing work accidents, but if an accident occurs, they must investigate and gather evidence to determine its causes. Once an investigation takes place, they will document findings and recommendations and submit them to the corporate safety director.
A company vehicle/vehicle allowance will be provided for this position.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
- Be able to work without direct supervision.
- Good communication and computer skills.
- Construction job site experience.
- Safety Experience not necessary, required training will be provided by Pro Air.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in the elements.
- Construction experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Continuous inspection of project sites, to ensure a hazard-free environment.
- Promoting safe practices on site
- Carrying out drills and exercises on managing emergency situations
- Conducting investigations on accidents and injuries
- Responding to workers’ safety concerns
- Performing workplace safety inspections
- Collaborating with the Corporate Safety Director
