Part time weekend aides for Petite, Bright Young Woman with Cerebral Palsy.

Join a small team of dynamic and dedicated young women providing 1:1 care, support and aide with all personal, social, vocational, recreational, and daily living activities for physically challenged young woman with Cerebral Palsy.

Young woman is petite, bright (UC Berkeley grad), good humored, thoughtful, and determined to live her most independent life. But to do this she needs the support of some very special aides like you. She is quite capable, but also quite physically compromised and needs a lot of assistance....no lifting, but needs help with walking, transfers, transportation( family vehicle) and all ADLs. Experience with physical disabilities helpful but not required...will train. Support is provided in the home as well as community settings. Young woman will soon be moving to a Torrance apartment.

Open shifts: #1. Saturdays 5pm through overnight to 9am Sunday.... Most overnight hours are paid asleep but must be a very light sleeper to respond to night time needs. #2. Sundays 9am to 5pm. ( sub hours often available too)

Provide emotional support, encouragement, and friendship too. Also great for those interested in nursing, PT, OT, speech pathology, social work, counseling, etc.

* Required: Valid CA driver's license with good driving record. Strong apple computer, communication and writing skills. Physically fit. Bachelors degree preferred but not required. Patience, a big heart, light sleeper for overnights and a warm nurturing nature required.
