The Pritchard Zero Waste Supervisor(s) will oversee the facility’s zero-waste sorting operations for all event and non-event days. The Zero Waste Supervisor is expected to hand-sort alongside their Team every shift.

The role of the Zero Waste Supervisor will require the following duties and qualifications:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility of zero-waste sorting operations shift-to-shift falls on the Zero Waste Supervisor.

  • Communicate with Zero Waste Team Leads and Sorters with clarity and control.
  • Effectively report to the Sustainability Manager problems and progress as it happens.

  • Responsible for completing several shift checklists (pre-, during, and post-shift tasks).
  • Maintain waste infrastructure.
  • Collect data and maintain databases (e.g., weights, times, costs, etc.)
  • Utilize work order tracking software to keep track of and report status of tasks; including pre-and post-event scheduled tasks, and responding to event-related requests as they arise.
  • Transport donations or sorted waste to local recyclers/organizations.
  • Transport people in and out of the Arena (volunteers, sub-contractors, etc.).
  • Must be able to work efficiently and problem-solve on the go; task prioritization is key during fast-paced sorting operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Efficiently manage teams of assigned workers.
  • Experience and interest in sustainability.
  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Take direction from Pritchard Event Supervisors/Managers.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment (up to 200 lbs.).
  • Ability to work a non-standard schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Punctual and reliable communicator.
  • Positive attitude and consistent motivation to work.
  • Must work well with all departments.
  • Must hand-sort waste.
