Job Summary

The purpose of this job is to handle time-consuming clerical responsibilities for physicians during office based patient encounters. Scribes accompany a physician and directly observe patient encounters. They accurately document the events and decision-making in a manner that results in appropriate medical charting. Scribes also complete clerical activities necessary to assist with processing of physician orders for tests, medications, and procedures. The intent of this position is to perform time-consuming clerical duties that otherwise would be assigned to a physician enabling the physician to spend more time with individual patients, contributing to a positive patient experience and increasing the overall flow of patients in the practice.To report to the Practice Manager, the purpose of this job is to handle time-consuming clerical responsibilities for physicians during office based patient encounters.
