Prism Health North Texas is Hiring a Financial Analyst, Clinical Practice Near Dallas, TX

This position provides financial analysis and reporting on Prism Health North Texas’ (PHNTX’s) clinical practice and revenue cycle activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and other periodic and ad hoc financial reports related to PHNTX’s clinical practice and revenue cycle.
  • Prepare P&L, productivity (RVU and other productivity measures), services analysis, inventory utilization, and/or other reports for individual providers, clinic locations, services, and/or service lines.
  • Revenue cycle analytics: research and report occurrences and trends in important revenue cycle measures such as billed charges, collections, denials, contractual adjustments, days in A/R, write-offs for various subsets of the practice.
  • Complete budget-to-actual variance analyses related to clinical practice revenue, expense, productivity, etc.
  • Complete analyses to support organizational decision-making, such as pro formas and scenarios for various clinical practice possibilities (new site, new provider, new service, change in staff mix, change in payor mix, etc).
  • Derive budget figures for the clinical practice portion of the organization’s Annual Budget. Maintain year-round variance analysis and reforecasting.
  • Participate in analyses related to clinical volume, patient accounts receivable, and other variables affecting or reflected in both the electronic health record (EHR) and accounting system.
  • Participate as assigned in special projects; process improvement; organizational initiatives, such as evaluating and implementing new ERP, financial tools, and processes; general accounting work; cross-training and providing backup for other accounting roles; audit support tasks; annual budget support, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Data Science/Analytics, or other relevant field required.
  • MBA, MHA, MSA, or other relevant Master’s degree and/or certificates/certifications preferred.
  • At least 2 (with Master’s) or 4 (with Bachelor’s) years of work experience in business, finance, accounting, or data analytics required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal and team skills, and ability to present/teach/train to diverse audiences required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, LOOKUPS, IF statements, and other similar functions required. Intermediate skill in MS Word, PowerPoint required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Financial work experience in a healthcare, pharmacy, scientific, or research setting preferred.
  • Excel certification and/or facility with VBA/Macros preferred.
  • Data analysis and data visualization experience preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) data preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and principles
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
