Community Parent Involvement Specialist (CPIS) is a district stipend position that oversees the district’s preschool family services. Duties include:
Facilitation of the community needs assessment
Forming and operating quarterly meetings of the Early Childhood Advisory Council
Organizing family involvement plans and activities
Work closely with private provider family workers, Preschool Instructional Coach/Intervention Specialist, center directors and other district professionals and community agencies as needed
Assist with pupil recruitment and outreach
Help develop and conduct the Preschool Family Support Team to support families and students experiencing chronic absenteeism and other challenges in the school setting
Assist families in managing student online portals and accessing district information electronically
The district anticipates approximately 208 hours of work over 10 months in accordance with the district calendar. CPIS responsibilities may be conducted outside the normal school day, virtually and in-person. At least three-night events are expected. The CPIS is expected to schedule time for collaboration with center directors, family workers and district PreK administration in the above-mentioned duties. Annual total stipend not to exceed $10,000.
