Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is Hiring a Mechanical CAD Support Near Princeton, NJ

Overview

Provide electro/mechanical CAD support to all PPPL projects (NSTX-U, LTX, FLARE and other collaborations) within the CAD Group in the Engineering Department. This person will work with supervision supporting engineers, technicians, and possibly physicists who will request mechanical drawings and/or associated 3D models. Support CAD group to meet project deliverables and maintain PPPL CAD standards

Responsibilities

Core Duties: 

  • 60% - Create, modify, and maintain parametric 3D models and 2D layouts/drawings using PTC Creo, SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
  • 10% - Verify drawing compliance to standards for documentation release and at times field verification of existing conditions with field walk downs as required.
  • 10% - Prepare ECN’s and documentation for release and configuration management.
  • 10% - Generate design related presentation images, transmittals and document packages.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • AA degree with 0-2 years of experience in CAD environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • PTC Creo (Pro-E) and SolidWorks and Windchill or a similar PDM tool.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to walk to experiment buildings and measure components as required.

Working Conditions: 

  • Daily on-site all week, mostly computer work.
