The Industrial Safety Specialist will serve as a point of contact between the Plasma Science and Technology Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Division. They provide technical support, consultation to support various PPPLs safety program elements.
As a member of the Occupational Safety & Health team, you will be responsible for Laboratory personnel and other safety members in maintaining and monitoring various occupational safety programs. These program elements include but are not limited to policy and procedural compliance and tracking, safety and health program management, injury reporting analysis, and safety training.
As the Industrial Safety Specialist, you will conduct task-specific job safety analyses for work performed in various industrial and mechanical areas. The specialist reviews safety programs to evaluate their effectiveness and ensures implementation. Assistance in the investigation of accidents and determining causative factors to prevent recurrence are among the responsibilities for this position. You will conduct health and safety reviews in various locations to identify unsafe conditions and processes that may exist and make appropriate recommendations. Additionally, you will provide oversight and support in field activities.
