BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Substitute Teachers must have completed 48 college credits or an associate's degree from an accredited college or university. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Substitutes must be skillful in effectively communicating with students, teachers, parents, and other school personnel.
They must be able to follow written and oral instructions and directions in carrying out tasks and procedures related to the instructional, behavioral, emergency and health-related plans and services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

BASIC FUNCTION/NATURE OF WORK:

• This is a temporary assignment which requires the substitute to perform a variety of tasks and carry out instructional procedures as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Substitutes may work at any PWCS school or may chose specific locations.
• Substitutes may create a schedule for when they wish to receive offers for substitute jobs.

DIMENSIONS:
An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work at the school.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES/ILLUSTRATIVE EX OF WORK:

• Review all lesson plans, duties and schedules to be followed during the teaching day, maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which they are assigned.
• Responsible for pupil behavior in class and teaching the outlined lesson plans.
• Record attendance for each class.
• Remain in assigned classroom until all students have been dismissed for the day, with the exception of a lunch period or other duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Work with individual students and small groups on assignments.
• Review student work, including objective test materials.
• Assists in the supervision of students on the playground and during any school sponsored activity occurring during the school day.
• Assist with fire drills.
• Assists with weather related items of clothing, as appropriate to the age/developmental level of the students.
• Follow all policies, rules and procedures for substitutes outlined in the Substitute Handbook and online.
• At the end of assignment, complete evaluation and check out with authorized personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SALARY:
Effective January 1, 2024 $19.84/hour

FULL TIME/PART TIME: Temporary
