Prince Cabling Company is Hiring a Cable Technician Near Tupelo, MS

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cable Technician to join our team. As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of communication and data transmission cables. This is a hands-on position that requires technical expertise in low voltage systems and computer networking.

Duties:
- Install, terminate, and test various types of cables, including Ethernet, telephone, and fiber optic cables
- Perform cable splicing, including fiber splicing and connectorization
- Troubleshoot and repair cable faults and connectivity issues
- Install and configure network equipment, such as Cisco routers
- Conduct site surveys to determine cable installation requirements
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and provide appropriate solutions
- Maintain accurate documentation of all cable installations and repairs
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cable Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of low voltage systems and telecommunication infrastructure
- Proficiency in cable installation techniques, including cabling standards and best practices
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and protocols
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve cable connectivity issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Skills:
- Field service experience in cable installation or related field is preferred
- Proficiency in working with various types of cables, connectors, and tools used in the industry
- Knowledge of fiber optic splicing techniques and equipment
- Understanding of computer networking principles, including IP addressing, subnetting, and VLANs
- Ability to operate specialized testing equipment, such as cable testers and OTDRs
