Primus Pipe and Tube, Inc is Hiring a Maintenance - Millwright Near Wildwood, FL

Primary Function

To perform and lead repairs on mechanical systems throughout the factory and grounds, along with any special projects for Primus. Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure continued operation. To inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust equipment using miscellaneous tools and measuring devices, pipe threading equipment, mobile equipment, hand trucks, overhead cranes, etc.

Secondary Function

Fabricate repair parts by using the machine shop equipment as necessary.

Rig, move and install equipment as needed.

Tools & Equipment

Burning and welding equipment, portables drill and grinder, drill press, hand forges, saw, misc. hand tools and measuring devices, pipe threading devices, pipe threading equipment, mobile equipment, hand trucks, over head cranes, etc.

Materials

Mechanical equipment, repair parts, pipe packing, lubricants, plastic and or steel pipe safety equipment. Work with hazardous materials (solvents and pickle acids).

Working Procedure

  • Receives instructions as to mechanical repair work to be done.
  • Lead repairs of all equipment, construction jobs, and special projects throughout the plant as instructed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair on your own, if assigned tasks are completed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on your own as assigned
  • Inspects equipment for defects, wear, alignment and lubrication as necessary.
  • Assembles and aligns gears, bearings and shafts.
  • Performs burning, tacking and welding as directed.
  • Operates mobile equipment and overhead cranes.
  • Erects scaffolding and performs simple rigging.
  • Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
  • Operates both power and hand tools in the field and in the shop area.
  • Works within guidelines of and utilizes plant preventative maintenance.
  • Occasionally required to perform painting, carpentry, pipe work and electrical work and clean out degrease pit as directed.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly during and following completion of a job.
  • Maintain proper and accurate maintenance information in the Primus CMMS system.

Certifications & Requirements

  • 5 Years as a certified Industrial Mechanic or Millwright, with certification from an accredited Industrial Mechanic or Millwright position
  • Hydraulic/pneumatic certification
  • Blueprint/schematic training
  • Rigging/strapping certification
  • Industrial mechanical training/degree or certificate
  • Fabrication experience
