Job Responsibilities
Assist lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities and lessons that meet the developmental needs of children
Supervise children in the classroom, ensuring their safety and well-being
Help maintain a clean and organized learning environment
Provide individual attention to children in need of extra assistance or care
Facilitate group activities to enhance children's social and cooperative skills
Assist children with daily routines, including meal times, bathroom breaks, and nap times
Observe and record children's behavior, milestones, and progress for review with lead teacher
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's experiences and development
Prepare teaching materials and aids as directed by the lead teacher
Help manage classroom inventory and resources
Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions
Enforce rules and disciplinary measures in the classroom as per daycare policy
Assist with the integration of special needs children in a respectful and supportive manner
Encourage children to express themselves creatively through art, music, and play
Perform other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or daycare management
Pay / Schedule Full-time and Part-time available $16-19/hour, based on experience 9 hour shift with an hour lunch break Business hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm No weekends Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in early childhood education preferred
At least 1 year of experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting
Understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate behaviors
Effective communication skills with children and adults
Ability to assist with the implementation of lesson plans and educational activities
Patience and flexibility in handling the needs of children
Ability to work collaboratively with lead teacher and other staff members
Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR certified or willingness to obtain certification
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting children, bending, and standing for extended periods
Pass a background check and health screening, including TB test
Strong observational and reporting skills to monitor children's progress
Creativity and enthusiasm to engage children in learning activities
Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation purposes
Commitment to continuing education and professional development in early childhood education
Adherence to the daycare's policies, procedures, and code of conduct
Ability to maintain a clean and safe classroom environment
Bilingual abilities are a plus, depending on the demographics of the children served
