The Civil/Structural Engineering Intern will join a large Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) firm specializing in solar PV & Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Substations. This position includes civil and structural design and studies, field construction and installation means & methods development & optimization, design of foundations, roads, and civil systems.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Help developing preliminary design concepts based on engineering principles for solar PV systems.
• Provide necessary support and documentation to Estimating, Business Development & Proposal team.
• Utilize civil/structural engineering calculation tools.
• Work with Estimating, Procurement, Project Management & Construction team to provide on-going support with design concepts and design optimization of the solar PV systems.
• Work with engineers to guide through well designed solar PV site layouts, foundation designs and other design drawings and details.
• Contribution for construction details and Bill of Material for various construction work packages within solar PV project.
• Develop/contribute to design process from conceptual level to constructible level for multiple solar PV projects.

• Apply engineering principles for cost optimization of utility scale solar PV systems, develop design matrices and maintain the same for future reference.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Junior currently enrolled in a 4-Year Engineering Degree Program

BENEFITS AND PAY:

• $24 - $33 hourly, dependent on experience, qualifications, and competencies.
