Medical Receptionist
MD Skin Science is seeking qualified candidates for our upscale locations in Midtown East. Interested candidates must be: Professional, energetic, computer savvy, have the able to multi-task, be self-motivated, possess excellent patient relation & customer service skills, be a team player, and have experience in a very busy medical office!
Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.

-Must be an engaging and professional communicator with excellent phone and e-mail etiquette.
-Prefer prior experience working in a dermatology / medical environment.

Medical Office Receptionist Job Responsibilities
Responsible for front office receptionist & secretarial Duties of a medical office.
Supports medical staff to ensure the office is running smoothly by answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, maintaining office files and patient records on a timely basis, participating in the training of other front office staff, etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (may include, but not limited to) :
● Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
● Maintain daily appointments schedule, Schedule patient appointments, confirm appointments for following day.
● Check and take detailed messages for Physician and Physician Assistants, and other office personnel.
● Relay messages to appropriate party, return patient phone calls in a timely manner.
● Ensure that patient/pharmacy/provider requests are followed up on.
● Coordinate with Medical Assistants and providers to ensure the completion of prior authorizations and appropriate changes to prescriptions when needed.
● Pull and File patient charts, maintain up to date patient information.
● Document patient visits, insurances and copays on a daily basis.
● Check eligibility and referral requirements for each patient prior to visit.
● Perform Data Entry: Enter new patient information into our EMR systems, Update patient information (including demographic and insurance information, medical notes, referrals, etc.) at every visit.
● Collect payments at the time of service
● Maintain the neatness of the front office.
● Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a medical office setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Proficient in using phone systems and computer software applications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
