Land Use and Transactional Paralegal
:
You will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in land use, zoning and transactional projects. You will be responsible for preparing legal documents and providing administrative support to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of legal services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, well-organized, and possesses a strong understanding of land use and zoning laws as well as transactional procedures.
Document Preparation
Assist in the preparation of land use applications and submissions.
Draft, revise, and proofread legal and other documents, including correspondence, emails, applications, notices of public hearing, notices of decision, resolutions and similar.
The firm also represents clients in all aspects of a commercial real estate transactions, including, but not limited to, initial due diligence and title review, contract and lease drafting and negotiation, examining title to property, identifying and resolving title issues and closing. The ideal candidate will have the experience to assist in all aspects of this.
Legal Research
Conduct thorough research on land use regulations, zoning codes, and relevant case law.
Summarize and organize research findings for use by attorneys.
Stay updated on changes in local, state, and federal land use laws and regulations.
Case Support
Assist attorneys in case preparation, including organizing exhibits, deposition summaries, and hearing materials.
Coordinate communication and document exchange with clients, municipalities, engineers and planners.
Manage case calendars, deadlines, and schedules.
Client Interaction
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress and assisting with inquiries.
Collect and organize client information and documentation.
Administrative Tasks
Handle administrative duties such as scanning, filing, photocopying, and managing incoming/outgoing mail.
Coordinate meetings and appointments for attorneys.
Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a related field.
Paralegal certification preferred.
Five years experience as a paralegal in a law firm, especially in land use or real estate transactional law, is advantageous.
Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in using legal case management software and office productivity tools.
