Prime Home Developmental Disabilities Services is Hiring a CNA/CMA/Care Giver Near Omaha, NE

Prime Home Developmental Disabilities Services offers educational, residential and behavioral programming to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.

The CNA/CMA/Care Giver is responsible for providing compassionate care and assistance to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities by working with each client, assessing their needs and meeting those needs with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all clients are treated with respect and dignity, recognizing individual needs and encouraging independence.
  • Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals’ many daily living needs including but not limited to: nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication and socialization skills.
  • Develop a rapport with clients and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship.
  • Update client case notes daily.
  • Always ensure an appropriate staff-to-client ratio.
  • Always maintain the safety and security of the clients through line of sight supervision.
  • Ensures the safe loading/unloading and timely delivery of clients to their outings in compliance with all traffic laws, safety guidelines, current federal, state and local standards and regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures.

CNA/CMA Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of relevant nursing care
  • Friendly and professional manner
  • Maintains current CPR certification
  • Maintains current Med Aide certification
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills
  • Understands legal implications of patient care
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Experience with Developmental Disabilities 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Certification with accredited training course through the State of Nebraska
  • 2 years experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
