Prime Healthcare is Hiring a Med Surg Nurse Near Leavenworth, KS

We are seeking a Med Surg Nurse, internally referred to as our Telemetry Nurse at St John Hospital a member of Prime Healthcare. A dedicated nurse specializing in attending to patients within medical-surgical units, especially those needing cardiac monitoring. Our Med/Tele RN is instrumental in overseeing the safety, comfort, and overall well-being of individuals needing cardiac surveillance during their hospitalization. 
Bonus Options: up to $20,000 (experience may be required)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
  • assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans
  • monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms
  • communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology
  • administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
  • provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support
  • educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modifications
  • respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible
  • maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patients' conditions, treatments, and responses to interventions
  • follow established protocols and policies established by your department, Human Resources or any department in which guidelines must be met
  • other duties and responsibilities maybe assigned depending on department need and growth
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 
  • current and valid state RN License
  • current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
It will be great if you also happen to have these qualifications but not required:
  • current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • previous Acute Care hospital experience
  • ventilator management experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
