- prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the CT table explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have
- operate CT scanners to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, and radiation safety at all times
- monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
- assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or performing certain procedures
- preserve all equipment assigned to the radiology department, CT Technologist are responsible for the quality assurance of CT scanners to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images
- keep accurate records of each patient’s procedure, including images and relevant medical history, documentation and record-keeping is a must
- follow strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, yourself, and other healthcare personnel
- maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license
- other duties and responsibilities may be assigned depending on department need and growth
- licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by the State
- appropriate national certifications in two modalities
- current BCLS accredited by the AHA
- familiar with State and Federal regulations
- graduate of an accredited radiology technology program
- proficient computer skills
- one year of Acute Clinical Radiography
- graduate of a radiology technology program accredited by JRCERT
