Senior Analyst/Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION

MDES is seeking one (1) senior analyst/developer with experience in .NET applications. The contractor will work in the state office with existing MDES technical team members to provide maintenance, enhancements, and support to the agency s current applications. The contractor may also be required for designing, developing, and enhancing additional applications as requested. Tasks required will be: (1) Serve as technical Microsoft .NET developer for MDES, (2) maintain, support, and develop enhancements to the MDES Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) application, (3) Assist the MDES technical team supporting the functions required under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

TECHNICAL

• .NET Development and Support

• Record locking development and experience.
• Application-level security
• System and user level auditing
• SQL Server Database Administration
• Design and produce queries for quarterly, yearly, and ad hoc report required by US Department of Labor Legislature, and state and local partners.
• Data modeling

BUSINESS SKILL SET

• Proficient in English speaking and writing
• Ability in interact with functional users and technical staff regarding business and information technology needs.
• Problem solving and listening.

TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILL SET

• Microsoft server operating systems including Windows 2008
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• JavaScript
• Crystal reports
• Problem/application resolutions for end users
• Object oriented programming, mainframe programming, and cross system data exchanges.
• Documents and troubleshoot current web and network security issues and certificate authorities.
• Experience with Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration accounting software and MAGIC/Pay Mode, including interfaces with MAGIC (vendor payment system)

QA/TESTING- APPROACHES, APPLICATION

• Create and maintain testing environment and data needed for testing.
• Coordinate QA User Testing activities among various State and Local parties
