Duties:

- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Drive individuals to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities
- Implement behavior management strategies and support individuals in developing appropriate social skills
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by following established protocols and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Advocate for resident rights and promote their independence and self-determination
- Document daily activities, progress notes, and incidents accurately and timely

Skills:

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, and other team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required in the role
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to medical emergencies
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and ability to implement them effectively
- Understanding of systems related to developmental disabilities services, such as Medicaid or state-funded programs
- Experience in childcare or social work is a plus
