Position Overview:

The primary function of this role will be to take part in creating and evolving infrastructure designs from concept to final construction document phase. Project types include PennDOT & PTC Highway Design and City / County Roadway and Intersection projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform analyses and apply problem solving techniques in order to develop creative, innovative solutions. Performs a variety of complicated tasks and critical thinking.
• Learn systems and software to include MicroStation and Open Roads.
• Gain experience in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Take part in reviewing, understanding, and applying local, state, and federal codes and standards related to the design and construction of project facilities.
• Learn and apply market specific guidelines, the practices and policies of the associated local and State standards and firm.
• Assist in designing various types of infrastructure projects utilized within the transportation and heavy civil industries.

Experience in the coordination of survey, grading, drainage, signing and pavement making, E&S, 3D modeling, cross sections, profiles, traffic control, utilities and layout, along with quantities, specifications and cost estimates of various site items is a plus.

Minimum Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree is Civil or Transportation Engineering, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
• BSCE graduate (with EI is preferred).
• 0-3 years’ experience preferred in highway, roadway, and/or civil projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation/OpenRoads Designer.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
