Title: Field Service Photovoltaic Technician
Location: Milford, MA – 2 Hour Traveling Radius
Pay: $45/Hour – Company Vehicle – Relocation Assistance
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am-3:30pm – Paid for all travel

This position will have a chance to work hands on with commercial and industrial photovoltaic infrastructure centrally located in Milford with travel up to 2 hours in a service territory. You will work with inverters, combiner boxes, panels, monitoring equipment, sensory systems, etc. This is exclusively in the renewable energy field with a growing company offering full benefits, moving package, and overtime getting paid for all your travel time. Various types of experience will be considered ideally with large PV arrays and commercial or industrial scale electrical background.
Job Description:

  • Audit third party systems as directed for potential safety concerns, quality of worked performed and possible improvement opportunities.
  • Identify, coordinate, and observe contracted workers performing troubleshooting and repairs for item 1 above, medium voltage equipment, and other troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Document time, material, expenses and maintenance records in O&Ms computer-based maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Complete assigned training and qualification requirements within a specified time frame, including meeting or exceeding minimum test score requirements.
  • Prepare reports and communicate to site management the results of maintenance activities.
  • Perform other duties assigned including procedure development and revision.
  • Fieldwork includes, but is not limited to commissioning new systems, troubleshooting, testing, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, training of on-site personnel and site visits.
  • The Technician may also be assigned the responsibility for observing the quality and safety of a contractor performing technical maintenance and commissioning type work. The PV Technician reports to the Operations Site Supervisor.
  • Travel is required for this position.
  • Troubleshoot and repair of DC, low voltage AC, data acquisition and meteorological station PV system components, including grounded circuits.
  • Tests to be performed by a PV Technician include but are not limited to: Open circuit voltage; Operating DC current; I-V curves; Power Meter verification; Megger Test; and Resistance test.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on PV systems to include thermography of low and medium voltage equipment.
