Primary Health Choice is Hiring a Direct Support Professional Near Wallace, NC
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Household care and maintenance
- Accompany consumer on community outings with the approval or request of parent/guardian
- Implement individualized care plans and document progress
- Promote independence and encourage participation in social and recreational activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment
- Attend any meetings/training's that may be scheduled by the supervisor
- Submit completed forms to the agency by the schedule deadline
- Complete daily notes within 24 hours of providing services
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in caregiving or related field preferred (e.g., nursing home, hospice care, home care)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Not listed on the NC Health Care Abuse Registry
- Knowledge of caregiving principles and practices, including resident rights and dignity
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and ability to use medical equipment
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility needs
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
