Primary Eye Care Center of Ahwatukee is Hiring an Optometric Technician Near Phoenix, AZ

We are looking to hire a new ophthalmic technician to join our staff for a full-time position in Phoenix (Ahwatukee), Arizona. We are a busy and medically oriented independent optometric office.

This is a perfect opportunity for an individual looking for interesting work in a professional environment. Previous experience as an ophthalmic/optometric technician, or experience with medical scribing, medical field, or in optics preferred, but we will train right person. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtaining a medical history and conducting preliminary tests on patients prior to seeing the doctor. These tests include: blood pressure, color vision testing, auto-refraction, measuring IOP with non-contact tonometry (NCT) or tonopen, visual fields, retinal/fundus photos, OCTs, visual acuities, PHPs, and pachymetry.
  • Disinfecting exam rooms in between patients, and keeping exam rooms stocked with supplies, clean, and tidy.
  • Preparing patient charts in advance
  • Assisting doctors when necessary
  • Instilling drops in patients' eyes for dilation and other procedures
  • Answering phones and making appointments when necessary
  • Checking a patient's previous eyeglass prescription with a manual lensometer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
