Priest, Craven & Assoc Inc. is Hiring a Land Surveying Department Manager Near Raleigh, NC

Priest, Craven & Associates, Inc. is a longstanding and stable land use consulting firm in need of a land surveying department manager to transition into that role upon the future retirement of our current survey manager.

Our work is primarily boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, wetland and tree location surveys, construction staking for residential and commercial development projects, record plats and asbuilt surveys of constructed street and utility infrastructure.

Average tenure of our current staff is 20 years.

The land surveying department manager will oversee field operations, including project assignments for CAD technicians and scheduling fieldwork for three survey crews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Work closely with others to schedule survey projects and monitor progress to ensure timely completion

-Compilation and organization of projects' daily field data and office computations

-Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D for the production of various drawings, including, but not limited to, detailed topographic surveys and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys

-Process conventional and GPS data using Carlson or TDS software

-Other duties as necessary to keep our clients projects moving forward.

Experience and Certification:

Seven years minimum experience required. PLS or on track for PLS also required.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Experience with GPS and Robotic survey equipment

-Must be proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Work, MS Excel, and MS Outlook

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy, fast-paced office with frequent deadlines and interruptions
