Join our dedicated team as an Awake Night Direct Support Professional, making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with diverse abilities. This unique position provides overnight support to individuals, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being during nighttime hours. As an Awake Night DSP, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure and nurturing environment for those in our care.

Responsibilities:

• Nighttime Monitoring:
• Maintain a vigilant and attentive presence throughout the night to ensure the safety and security of individuals.
• Conduct regular checks on residents, responding promptly to any emerging needs or concerns.
• Assistance with Daily Living:
• Provide support with nighttime routines, including personal care, hygiene, and other activities as needed.
• Administer medications as prescribed, adhering to established protocols.
• Emergency Response:
• Act decisively in emergency situations, following established procedures to ensure the well-being of individuals.
• Collaborate with on-call staff and emergency services when necessary.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of nightly activities, incidents, and individual interactions.
• Communicate effectively with daytime staff through written logs and verbal updates.
• Promoting Independence:
• Foster an environment that encourages independence and self-sufficiency, even during nighttime hours.
• Support individuals in developing and practicing skills that enhance their autonomy.
• Building Positive Relationships:
• Establish rapport and trust with individuals, creating a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless transition between night and day shifts.
• Training and Professional Development:
• Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance your skills and stay current on best practices in the field.
• Contribute to a positive team culture by sharing knowledge and experiences.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education or certifications are a plus.
• Previous experience in a caregiving or direct support role preferred.
• Strong observational and communication skills.
• Ability to stay alert and responsive during overnight shifts.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to promoting the well-being of individuals with diverse abilities.
