Preventionfocus, Inc. is Hiring a Prevention Specialist Near Buffalo, NY

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides training and presentations to youth, teens, and adults
  • Implements multi-session standardized curriculum packages in school and community settings
  • Creates materials to support presentations, media campaigns, events, and curriculum packages
  • Facilitates after-school programs, retreats, camps, and special events
  • Maintains positive working relationships with key individuals in program locations
  • Guides student and community groups through the completion of projects
  • Participates in media, public relations, community awareness, and fundraising efforts
  • Participates in regular staff meetings, collaborative meetings with other agencies, and community meetings
  • Completes evaluation instruments, statistical reports, and other administrative tasks for program assignments
  • Improves knowledge, skill, and professional capacity through regular training, reading, and research
  • Provides referrals to community resources

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong public speaking skills and comfort with groups large and small
  • Must have strong leadership skills and decision-making skills
  • Ability to relate to and engage diverse populations in a variety of settings
  • Knowledge of group dynamics and facilitation
  • Ability to work with professional autonomy and in a team environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, or related area; proficient computer skills; experience in health, mental health, or drug/alcohol services is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,000.00 per year
