PRESTIGE PAINTING is Hiring a Continuous Improvement Specialist Near Belmont, MS

Continuous Improvement Specialists at Prestige Painting (a Division of Patrick Industries) hold a key role, and report to the Leadership Team, responsible for ensuring the overall creation, implementation and maintenance of CI processes and programs to assure the highest possible degree of quality throughout the facility.

The CI Specialist owns the overall framework and implementation of processes throughout Prestige Painting for continuous improvement. The person in this position is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of continuous improvement to support business objectives.

Responsibilities will included, but will not be limited to:

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction
  • Planning, facilitating, and executing continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Teaching, leading, and coaching cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology
  • Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as transactional by collaborating with multiple functions such as logistics
  • Clearly defining program objectives and scope
  • Evaluating and prioritizing potential improvements based on gains and required effort
  • Securing employee commitment (ex: process managers) for proactive change management
  • Establishing a clear and well-articulated implementation plan
  • Establishing criteria for the project’s success and preparing a sound statement of constraints/limiting factors and defining methodology
  • Accurately analyzing options including impact and feasibility
  • Specifying obstacles and ways to overcome them through continuous improvement
  • Regularly monitoring the implementation of solutions to achieve objectives and expected benefits
  • Collaborate with senior management and HR to develop and implement training programs focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management or related field preferred but equivalent combination of experience will be considered
  • 3 years’ CI and experience within a manufacturing facility
  • Ability to make decisions as well as influence decision-making
  • Strong work habits focusing on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Developed reasoning, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong accountability and follow-through skills
  • Strong tact and diplomacy; ability to work effectively with staff on all levels
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Value Propositions is preferred
  • A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities
  • Self-motivated to work independently in a busy environment with changing priorities and the ability to adapt
  • Solid project management skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Relentless commitment and passion to promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
